About ACAR

ACAR committees are comprised of active members who volunteer their time and expertise to help strengthen the association’s events, services and initiatives. A list of ACAR committees is below with the ACAR staff liaison(s) and description.

Agent2Agent Staff Liaison(s): Judy McLaughlin & Sarah Kestler View Roster	This committee’s purpose is to develop and deliver a monthly program that provides topics relevant to the real estate industry that add value, increase business opportunities, and build relationships between colleagues.
Awards Committee Staff Liaison: Marc Lebowitz View Roster	This Committee evaluates and selects from submitted nominations, the recipients of awards for REALTORS® of the Year, Distinguished Service Recipients and other awards as determined by the committee or Board of Directors.
Budget and Finance Committee Staff Liaison: Sue Rice View Roster	This Committee controls and supervises the funds and assets of the Association by periodically reviewing and evaluating all income producing activities including but not limited to financial statements, dues structure, and unbudgeted requests for expenditures.
Bylaws Committee: Staff Liaison: Marc Lebowitz View Roster	This Committee is responsible for the annual review of the Bylaws of the Ada County Association of REALTORS® and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors and the general membership for any changes.
Circle of Excellence Committee Staff Liaison: Judy McLaughlin View Roster	This Committee organizes and approves all applications for the annual Circle of Excellence Award Banquet and is responsible for planning and implementing the banquet.
Communications Committee Staff Liaison: Sarah Kestler View Roster	This Committee will work become the conduit for member information. To inform and educate members about ACAR and its activities, and encourage participation in those activities. To promote programs and activities available through ACAR. The committee will work to enhance the term “REALTOR®” for all association members.
Education Committee Staff Liaison: Susan Hansen View Roster	This Committee develops and administers a well-balanced education program to serve the educational needs of the membership through various programs and recommendations. Also, recognizes that the function of the Board not be looked to with a profit motive, but as meeting the educational needs of the membership.
Green Task Force Staff Liaison: Susan Hansen View Roster	This task force is a team committed to creating awareness for ACAR members about sustainability through resources and education.
Grievance Committee Staff Liaison: Susan Hansen View Roster	This Committee examines complaints referred by the Executive Officer or Professional Standards Administrator to determine if the complaint has sufficient substance and merit to warrant an ethics or arbitration hearing.
Housing Opportunity Work Group View Roster
Membership Committee Staff Liaison: Susan Hansen View Roster	This Committee reviews new member applications as set forth in Article V of the Bylaws. The committee also develops and enhances REALTOR® and Affiliate benefits and organizes the REALTOR®-Affiliate Appreciation Night.
New Member Orientation Committee Staff Liaison: Sarah Kestler View Roster	This Committee reviews, develops and implements New Member Orientation programs and events.
Nominating and Elections Committee Staff Liaison: Marc Lebowitz, Miguel Legarreta View Roster	This Committee reviews, nominates, verifies eligibility, and offers the slate of candidates for officers and Board of Directors.
Political Affairs Committee Staff Liaison: Miguel Legarreta View Roster	This Committee monitors Local, State and Federal Government activities as they influence and affect the rights of private property owners and the interest of the real estate industry. Also screens candidates for political office and make recommendations as to RPAC contributions.
Professional Standards Committee Staff Liaison: Susan Hansen View Roster	This Committee is responsible for enforcing the Code of Ethics through conduct of ethics and arbitration hearings.
REALTOR® Outreach Committee Staff Liaison: Judy McLaughlin View Roster	Works through the REALTOR® Foundation, promoting the REALTOR® image in the community through appropriate programs and projects.
REALTOR® Political Action Committee Staff Liaison: Miguel Legarreta View Roster	Raises funds to support political candidates, local and legislative issues.
